I thought this is somewhat appropiate. Now that we have Jurassic World, (no spoilers will be given here), and mostly eveyrone loved the movie, let's talk about the sequel before Jurassic World...

...

Yeah, that movie. Personally, I say we just forget about it...

I mean I used to like it, but seeing of how much of a real dissapointment it was, well is, I say we just simply forget about the movie, it's memory, the Kirbys, Eric, Alan Grant's character being ruined, the horrible depiciton of dinosaurs just being monsters, especially for Spinosaurus Aegypticus and the Velociraptors.

And the other scene that basically made a split among Jurassic Park fans...

Yeah, don't mention it.

And of course...

"ALAN."

I have it as my profile picture, forum signature, and display name, but that's not the point. The point is it was awful. But at the same time wonderful... And funny... And awful...

So personally I say we just forget about the movie, all of us being Jurassic Park fans. And I know few who do like the movie, but come on, let's just forget Jurassic Park 3...

Like me and Primal King agreed on the Status Board yesterday, we shall amke a new hashtag:

#FvckAndForgetJP3AndtheKirbys

Share it with you friends!!!...

SO what do you guys say we do with Jurassic Park 3 and it's memory?

And yes this is defiitely necessary... I think... I'm just bored right now...

Alright, I leave, with this:

^The 2005 film? No, those were Vastatosaurus rex, supposedly an evolved version of the Tyrannosaurus rex.

Oh, well the point is you didn't see people on here complain about that scene. Seriously, why do people get so pissy and butthurt of a CGI scene in a Science FIction thriller meant to entertain people? Not to mention it wasn't that inacurate at the time the film came out.

But thanks for clarifying.

"Seriously, why do people get so pissy and butthurt of a CGI scene in a Science FIction thriller meant to entertain people?"

Because when they're done poorly they're worth complaining about. Not that I think it was done poorly, I don't have too much of an opinion on the JP3 fight, but to ask this "why" is feigning not to notice the obvious.

As for Jurassic Park 3 in general. There's really no reason to retcon it or forget about it. And quite frankly I don't think Jurassic World is much better or worse than JP3.

Jurassic Park 3 has numerous flaws with characters that don't have an iota of brains in them. (Except Eric, hilariously.) But Joe Johnston was forced to begin the film by Universal without a finished script in his hands. The man did a commendable amount of damage control trying to put together a movie he wasn't sure would fit together. Through some careful filming and editing he pulled it off well enough for the film to be a fun little adventure.

It's the least epic of the four movies, granted, but that's because major corporations, live parks and massive teams weren't involved in the story. It's an extremely isolated incident that doesn't hurt or effect the other movies in any way.

I think considering all the problems with the film's production the film managed to be okay. And it's also the last of the franchise to use a heavy amount of animatronic work. Additionally, as someone who thinks the Raptor dream sequence is hilarious, I'm more than happy it's being spoofed on the forums.

This is coming from someone who saw the original movie in theaters in 1993. If the third movie is really that much of a stain on the franchise I think it would have found a way to make the surrounding films less enjoyable, ala, the Matrix sequels.

I mean in my most honest opinion the really only poor thing about it was that it was simply just too short. That's just my problem with it. Jurassic Park has done lots of things wrong in the past, from making Velociraptors bigger to adding frills to Dilophosaurus. (I know they were done on purpose for the sake of making the film more enjoyable and suiting to the theme of the film of chaos, but why is it people get a probelm when they make inacurate statements to their favorite dinosaur which I still is way to-the-top overgloriffied.)

It is defintiely the weakest, that's why I say it shoudl just be forgotten about, as in the dissapointment of it. I don't mean to literally erase all of its tracks and to completely censor the movie completely.

And with that info about Joe Johnston's situation actually makes me be a bit less dissapointed about the film, thanks for clarifying.

But I think Jurassic World had far less problems than Jurassic Park 3. In Jurassic Park 3, I didn't love any of the characters, except for Alan Grant. (until they butchered up his character) But in Jurassic World I found myself caring for the characters.

Just my take.

Also Praise ALAN!

I think I care about just as many characters, or at least care about them just as much, in Jurassic World. Dinosaur inaccuracies don't bother me nearly as much as some other fans here. These are movie monsters parading as animals, more than anything.

But every franchise has a disappointing movie. The Godzilla series has several, but the no one forgets about them. They're part of the legacy and history.

The same goes for Jurassic Park III. Of course I'm not sure how one would "forget" about it or what that necessarily means within the context of the conversation. Even if the filmmakers/Universal claimed it was no longer canonical, people will still remember it.

I think, for the most part, this is fairly silly. Jurassic Park III is what it is. Disappointing for most fans and if they want to forget it they can. That doesn't change the fact it still exists and there's no way anyone is going to wipe every copy off the planet.

Yeah, that's what I was saying, since it's all science fiction it doesn't matter to much to me whether eveyrhting is innacurate. If it does, however, try to say it's all true, then that is different. EVen then in the book and briefly in the movie it does explain why the dinosaurs don't look like the more accurate ones we see today, that being that the Frog DNA and genetic engineering took away the feathers and was also done so people could see what they want to see in the attractions. (That being "terrible lizards")

That actually is an excellent point... I guess I will still acknowledge Jurassic Park lll as a sequel, it is actually cool to think of the history more.

EVeyr series has its bad moments for sure, even in video game series.

And I of course was not suggesting to completely wipe off JP 3 everywhere.

You see, this was actually my favorite movie in the franchise, followed by Jurassic World, Jurassic Park, and then Jurassic Park The Lost World. However, I believe each of these films were spectacular, I just like some more than others.

The ocean is my domain.

Huh, interesting, that is the first time I have ever seen someone say that Jurassic Park 3 is their favorite... Interesting.

But I will say that I respect your opinion, even though I certainly do not agree with it...

To make this short since I always get signed out whenever I write a long comment.

I love all four films and the first being my favorite, the best, and the first I've seen. As for the other three, I love them equally the same. Jp3 was just short, but heck the acting is a lot better than the other two. Jp 2 had an huge adventure, but it was a bit too stretched. Jurassic world was imaginative, but acting and characters were stale. So in my opinion, saying Jp3 was horrible isn't fair. I will never forget about it, too many memories and inspiration came from that film. It was a nice touch into looking more at dinosaurs.

Btw, to say Jp3 represented the dinosaurs as monsters only, has always been one of the themes in the Jurassic Park Series. (Look at 1, a little bit of 2, 3 obivously, and even four).

I understand what you mean, though I personally think in The Lost World the acting was the best there, but that's just me.
