Dino Master X
MemberCompsognathusAug-04-2014 4:13 PMHello, maybe I'm like some of you that like Macs more then Windows. So having a Mac makes it a little difficult to install games like JPOG, Stomping land, Primal Carnage, Dino D-day, Orion Dino Horde, and more. So I was curious to know if anyone in the JP community knew of any applications turn Windows games into Mac games. Most of them ARE on steam and I have already used Wine/ Wine Bottler and it didn't do a THING to help. Any information would be HIGHLY appreciated. =)

P.S I don't recomend you buy the stomping land, it's just giving those people who ran away with the thousands of dollars they made, more money.

Huza, Another Mac user who knows the same problems.
I've been working off of my Mac Book pro since I got it... Some time ago...? Almost a year or two now, But I've tried getting many games not designed for this platform on here.
Now, I do know of some things, There is over a thousand different downloads you can use to try and get one of your listed games.
DON'T EVEN TRY.
I've actually gotten a virus from one of the downloads that certainly F**ked up my Mac, Nothing too serious, I managed to find the virus and remove it. But this is something thats really difficult to do.
I know a few things you may be able to do:
1. Convert your mac over to a Windows Software, This is something that can be done, But is super difficult and can destroy your mac completely if done incorrectly.
2. Sometimes you can download the game, From a disc version.
3. Use Mac Boot camp, This is something that if I'm correct was created by Apple. I've never personally used it, But I've heard both good, and bad things from it.
4. If you are really heart set on playing these games, Maybe look into investing into a Windows.
Because Windows is a system that's easy to create and use games, It's got more games on it then there should be.
Within the coming future, Especailly in the JP Franchise, There should be more Mac compatible games, as the last JP Game released, was compatible with Mac and Windows. (Jurassic Park: The game). This isn't a solid promise, But it seems logical.
This Last bit is important.
Enjoy JPOG?
DinoSteve93, A member of our very own forum is apart of a new Free fan game, That works off of the same Logic, Set up and style as JPOG.
The game is called: Prehistoric Kingdom
The game is currently in Dev, But is fairly well along. I suggest you give them a looksie.

Sadly, Mac is the best OS For not getting Viruses and such, However, This limits it's ability to some games, As it's a bit more difficult to create games compatible with macs Software.
Don't worry bud, There's still plenty of games with dinosaurs in them for mac.
We just have to wait.

MemberCompsognathusAug-05-2014 12:24 AMWell, I heard that TSL was being delayed on updates because they were moving the game to Unreal Engine 4. Which could mean more recent updates, better graphics, AI, and potential once its done.

MemberCompsognathusAug-05-2014 1:57 AMI use VMware Fusion to play JPOG on my Mac. Can't play anything that needs to connect online (or at least I haven't taken the time to figure that out), but yeah, JPOG works great.
I highly recommend it. It's a great program. I also use it to operate otherwise "PC-only" programs and plug-ins.

However, I would recommend looking at Prehistoric Kingdom.
