Anybody else disappointed by the lack of Velociraptors in Jurassic World Rebirth?

AdminIndoraptorJul-03-2025 6:19 AMJust saw Jurassic World Rebirth and while it's certainly a step in the right direction, I felt it was plagued with the same issues the Jurassic World franchise as a whole has been since its rebranding - emphasis on non-Dinosaurs.
[SPOILERS AHEAD]
There was only ONE scene that involved Velociraptors and in that split-second the movements, sounds and atmosphere already outperformed every Raptor scene in the previous JW films. But before we were able to get a proper Raptor attack scene, a Mutadon comes out of nowhere and kills one.
I understand the reason for this was to make the Mutadons more deadly or ferocious than the Velociraptor but in my opinion, they don't compare. The JP Velociraptor is, and always will be more than enough to strike terror into the hearts of moviegoers.
I think the Dinosaur effects and behaviors were massively improved for Rebirth, but the film could have really brought things back into focus if it had just focused on the Dinosaurs and left the genetic tampered / mutant / hybrid monsters out of it.
Velociraptors are one of the staples of this franchise, I wish we got more of them in Rebirth. Although I'm very glad nobody tried to tame them in this one...
