MemberCompsognathusDec-01-2014 1:20 PMI know many of you were wondering how big the Mosasaurus(it is a Mosasaurus specifically) is in Jurassic World. Well, I found out it weighs 15 tons. Here's a link...

No length is given, but at least the weight is mentioned, so that's a bit more helpful :)
Thanks for sharing! :) I believe I noticed it before, and according to my estimations, the mosasaur is 50-60 feet long.

It also has a 13k bite force.
"There is nothing noble in being superior to your fellow man; true nobility is being superior to your former self." - Ernest Hemingway.
Glad this helped some of you guys :)
REX FAN 684 - What a great find! Fifteen tons?! That's incredible! Thank you so much for sharing this! :)
Sure thing SR :D
Just imagine swiming in a river and then seeing that come from below with jaws agape.
At least it'd be quick, lol
Yes it would be quick ;) Nice post, thought that thing was huge just by looking at its throat ...cant wait...so hyped!!!
Im sorry but none of the stats listed on the website are not accurate. First off, that is no where near a 3 million gallon lagoon. Your looking at hundreds of millions if not more. Most small town water towers hold 1 million plus gallons.
Secondly great whites can get up to 20 feet. Being conservative lets say that shark is 10 feet. And, in a rough scale of a Mosasaur, the head is about 1/7 of its total body length. So when looking at the head of the one in the movie vs the shark. we are looking at a 80-140 foot long animal.
Finally when you look at a Blue Whale. Lengths up to 100 feet and weighing up to 160 tons there is no way that Mosasaur weighs 15 tons. More realistically 200-300.
Anyways it still looks amazing. I understand why they made it that big. But seriously whats the point of them creating a D-Rex when they already have something like that in the park. I kinda see that thing eating the D-Rex in the end.
I know right? That thing is the perfect size to nom on some diabolus rex!
Here, have a waffle (-'.')-#
I think that Predator X was a Mosasaur. Look it up. Largest predator ever found. Ate wales, sharks and other Plesiasaurs. They are all forms of Pliosaur.
45 metric tonnes, 15metres (45feet) long..... Biggest ever.

Predator X (Pliosaurus Funkei) was not a Mosasaur, it was a Pliosaur.
There is no such thing as a pure predator. A meat-eater is eit
BREGO - That was an extremely neat snippet of documentary! Very interesting! Thank you so much for sharing it! :)
Nor did Predator X eat whales. It was also not the biggest predator ever. Other pliosaurs may have been just as big, as could icthyosaurs, whales, and sharks.
And Dakota, everything else on the site is accurate and such, so I think this one is official. I'm not saying it's realisitic, but it's what they claim. Also, the whole 1/7th role is for pliosaurs, not mosasaurs.
hey Rex fan. Do some resaearch, they are all related. Also the Mosasaur shown in the trailer is incredibly huge and I may say rather unrealistically huge and would weigh much more than 15 tonne. Anyhow these pliesaurs ate anything they wanted too as they were the largest carnivores that we know about.
i have a feeling that our friend Mosasaur could end up having a DRex snack at the end of the film.......
