How tamed Raptors could be plausible

Awhile back, a lot of JW storypoints were leaked. Like the D-Rex's origins and the fact that Chris Pratt's character (Owen) had trained Raptors. At first that didn't seem plausible to me, or a lot of the fans of the original Jurassic Park trilogy. I mean come on trained Raptors? That just doesn't sound right. But after seeing the trailer today, I'm sure a lot of us who didn't like it, have changed their minds.

Trailer:

After seeing this trailer it seems awesome. But when you really think about, very plausible.

Think about Lion and Tiger tamers. Lions and Tigers are very dangerous, wild animals. They would the Raptors of today. And they can be tamed, to an extent. To tame Lions and Tigers, you start when they are first born. Then you slowly get them to trust you and eventually, they are tamed. This is not without danger of course. Even if they are tamed from birth, they are still wild animals. There are reports of them attacking their handlers sometimes killing them.

This is what I feel is going on in Jurassic World. And probably what will happen if they turn against Owen. Share your oppinion in the comments section.

Well, After watching the Trailer, Ingen and Masrani had a lot of time on there hands to tinker with the Raptors DNA...

I MEAN THEY MADE A FREAKING HYBRID.

What's to stop them from making them Security?

Remember Dinosaurs are closely related to birds so If you can raise Cranes/Geese from an egg and they imprint a face as a parents when they hatch and then when there older they can fly with them using a micro-lite like here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ihh1xBXwt_0

I guess the same applys to Dinosaurs therefore you this makes me think you could raise Raptors in the same way and ride/hunt with them with out getting attacked by them as they would have imprinted the first thing they saw ie. Chris Pratts character in this case.

That's a Brilliant Head Cannon, I suppose if Chris was present with the Raptors from Brith and Actively Was present in their Life, They would treat him as a parent.

After some Conditioning, They'd probably give their Life for him in a life or death circumstance.

@Jwmike, remember in the first film it was said that the raptors lost the imprinting in about 6 months.

There is a line between "taming" and "training". A dog or cat is "tame" and a lion or tiger is trained. Taming is defined as "(of an animal) not dangerous or frightened of people, one that can be kept in everyday life without harm to other animals or people."

Trained is "To teach or condition an animal a particular skill, type of behavior, or mindset, through practice and instruction over periods of time."

Take it from someone who is an assistant keeper at a zoo, these raptors are trained, not tamed.

The imprinting thing with birds is powerful for the young years of its life, but starts to wear off and weaken as the animal grows older. So that would not be very reliable in Jurassic World.

I've got a bad feeling how this will end for the Starlord.

Let's go back to book one. Wu talks to Hammond in his Bungalow and mentions the idea to create tame dinosaurs (by genetically manipulating them), which are more easy to handle.

Considering Wu is back in action I could imagine he went through with his idea, at least with the Raptors. We already know from the whole story, that on the one hand playing with mother nature won't work, but people will continue doing it on the other hand (why would they build a new park after all of those experiences?!), Chris Pratt will be surrounded by some supposedly tame Raptors, who remembered there true nature

Again, TRAINED, not tamed.

well, I hope it wouldn't be like in how to train your dragon

where the D-rex would be the Red Death and Chris Pratt have one special raptor named toothless
