Giganotosaurus In Jurassic Park?

Lately, I've been thinking about Giganotosaurus a lot. I don't know why. Anyways, I think that Giganotosaurus would be awesome in Jurassic Park, especially if it was in a pack. I can imagine a pack of Giganotosaurus killing anything in the series. A couple of images I have in my head are the T-Rex and Spinosaurus getting ready for round two when a pack of Giganotosaurus run in and kill them both, much to the surprise of the protagonists. Another I have is a T-Rex coming running out of the woods, directly at the protagonists, but instead of attacking them in runs past them. The people stand there, confused, until a couple seconds later when a pack of Gigas run out in hot pursuit of the T-Rex, which maybe manages to kill one, but is overwhelmed in a holy $#%* moment. Those are just a couple of the numerous ones i have in my head. Now understand that I'm not a Giga fan picking on T-Rex, I just don't think Spino will be in the new movie and I think a Giga pack would be awesome for JP4, or if not, JP5. What do you think?

For one thing, Tyrannosaurus was also a pack hunter. Like Spinosaurus, I have a hard time believing that a Giganotosaurus could beat Tyrannosaurus. But not taking that into consideration, I still don't think Giga would make a good new superpredator. Don't get me wrong it's fearsome and huge, 45 feet long and 7-8 tons, but it's too close to T-rex. They both have huge bodies, big heads, long teeth, and pretty short arms. The only real difference at first glance is Giga had 3 fingers, not 2. Of course big time dinosaur fans would notice the more subtle differences right of the bat, but the general public, which outnumbers the dino fans 10-1, are not really gonna know the difference. Giga is still awesome though and the king of S. America.

T-Rex was likely only a pack hunter as a juvenile. I do agree that Giga and Rex look pretty similar, but I think that it could be differentiated from the T-Rex if the producers wanted it to be. They could add stuff like keratin knobs and stuff on top of a new coloration. Even if most people just perceive it as a mutated T-Rex I think it would be cool. I think a lone T-Rex could kill a lone Giga like 65% of the time.

That'd be a pretty cool idea. It wouldn't take much to differentiate them, like you said, it could be as simple as a different color or some spikes!

Yeah I'm sure the audience would be smart enough to tell them apart with minimal changes.

Giga would be a cool addition to Jurassic park. If T-Rex did hunt in packs, it would be juveniles or a family group. Giga and T-Rex were similar, but some differences are that T-Rex had forward facing eyes, two fingers, and Giga's arms were bigger in comparison to the body, T-Rex had a differently shaped skull, and they would probably be different colours.

Totally, Giga is is one of my top 2 meat-eating dinos, and I was disappointed when i first watched JP3 that they didn't have them in it. I know T rex looks like Giga but come on Giga is awesome.

Good idea!but i think that a t.rex could kill a lone giga 50% of the time, because if the giga do a frontal attack like bite its neck and slash it,after that the giga just need to wait untill the rex out off blood. Sorry for my english,im hungarian

Two things Sniper. First, it's ok, I understand what you're saying. Second, it would take a lot more that a bite a some scratches from Giga to make a Rex bleed out. There isn't that much of a size difference. I think that one Rex was found and its one arm showed that it was ripped off, and the Rex named Stan, had a healed bite mark on its head where another Rex had bit it. I think it was deep too (not sure how deep though).

Yeah, Tyrannosaurus is more powerful than Giganotosaurus, smarter, has better vision, etc. While Giganotosaurus would put up a good fight, it would take more than a single bite and a couple of slashes from it's claws to take down an adult rex.

A Giga could beat a T-Rex, but it would take a lot of force for a Giga to be able to slash a Rex's throat. What i see happening is that if Giga got a good bite in, it could sever the spinal cord, or maybe after a long battle, it bleeds out. What I'm saying is that Giga would not be able to just charge a Rex from the front, bite and scratch it a few times, and then wait.

yes but if the giga hit the rex with its 50 km/h it could do internal injuryes.and for example not he first bite but if it cut the rex's throat its bleed out.there are no animal that can survive this.

I Think The Giga Really Can Beat The Rex ! Giga have to take down a large prey like the argentinosaur and to do that they need an extra power and intelligence. and rex have to take down an easy prey, like hadrosaur! so in a Battle A Giganotosaur will have to crushed its skull with a single bite. and i thiink the giga can be the new superpredator

raptorex@ dont forget that t rex battled triceratops as well. it would have taken a lot of strategy to take one down

look it on giga  point of view. if they want to take down an Argentinosaurus. which is 20 times Bigger Than triceratop, the giga really need to used a lot of power. also the argentino moved in herd that can reach up to 30 induvidual. they need a strategy to seperate and kill it, and that need a lot of intelligence and agileness.

Actually, Gigas probably didn't kill the Argentinosaurs (unless they were young or sick). They probably just chased it while biting off chunks of flesh to eat.

Orrrrrrrrrrr, strength in numbers. Giga was a pack hunter, a trait seen in most Allosaurs. The pack would attack from the sides, and with any luck, the Argentinosaurus would bleed out before it killed them all. It would take power, yes, but it would also take power for a Rex to take down a Trike.

Animals always go for the easiest source of food. They'll kill an Argentino if they have to, but most of the it's safer and easier to do it the other way.

The same could be said for T-rex hunting Alamosaurus(up to 100 ft and 80+ tons in some cases). So, T-rex could take on sauropods like Giganotosaurus, plus well defended prey like Triceratops and Ankylosaurus.
