okay so i finally got back to my labtop heres the stats now before i start let me tell you this i have no liking of either side so i have no influence on the final battle (this is the edited version) (height is measured in the biggest skeletons found) T rex vs Spinosaurus height 40 feet 50 feet length - 40 feet - 60 feet speed - 17.9 mph - 12 mph weapons primary large jaws and teeth - large hand claws for powerful neck muscle - slashing and ripping secondary for ripping. and - weak small jaws third - powerful leg muscles - leg muscles for kicking - for kicking feet claws- diet - scavenger/hunter - fisher - diet consisting of --- eats a lot of fish and - other dinos big or small --- the ocasional dino weight---- 7 tons ------ 21 tons name definition - tyrant lizard -- spiny lizard location -- north america -- south america, africa, some of asia family -- Tyrannosauroidea -- Spinosauria now i shall write a story about the fight In a clearing in the jungles of isla nublar a t rex and a spino confront each other. The spino makes a long hissing noise as it circles around with the rex, the rex lets out an ear splitting roar and charges the spino. The rex comes and head butts the spino. The spino caught off guard is flung for a few meters landing at the end of the clearing it pulls itslef up and lets out a roar. The two charge at each other the spino biting with its small useless jaws at the rexs neck and trying to use its claws to scratch the rex. The rex fends it off and bites the spinos neck, the spino lets out a roar of pain and scratches the rex with its claws, both have drawn blood. The rex limps to the side but the spino kicks the rex and the rex flops to the ground the spino charges the rex but the rex kicks it back. The spino is flung head over heels landing on its back crushing its sail into its spine the spino doesn't give up though. He lets out another roar and takes a big slash at the rex scratching its face horribly the rex stands back blinded for a few seconds giving the spino enough time to attack again. The rex can smell it with its impaired vision and charges as its vision comes back into play.It charges the spino right where its neck ends off at the belly winding the giant spino the spino flops over onto its side still breathing... the rex comes down for the kill but the spino bites its neck. Instead with the spinos frail jaw the rex has it easy with shaking it off with its giant neck muscles. Flinging the heavy animal into the air. The spino lands on its side near death as the rex comes in for the final kill it bends down and rips the spinos neck to shreds. With its neck tearing off the head the spinos body spasms and then flops over dead... The rex lets out a triumphant roar which can be hear throughout the island explanation: with the animals chances of ever meeting in real life impossible (there was a 25,000 million time difference in between them) the spino was built for fishing not fighting although it would take down a wounded or sick animal a few times it wasn't build for fighting although its claws were very very affective in the fight having slashed the rex in many places and blinding him the spino was a close match to the rex... the rex had a very strong neck muscle meant for ripping the animal with the side to strong side movement, the rexs head was built to take hits which is why he rammed the spino using its teeth to grip onto the animal it used its neck to shake usually breaking the animals back... now before you go all rage on this discussion hear me out this was from the biggest specimens of them found (yes i did take into account the bombed one and made up a height for it) all this info is taken from palaeontology sites and stuff yes this battle was between sue (rex) and bombie (the bombed spino) also in other news many of you wanted to see a jp 3d velociraptor info poster WELL I FOUND IT (took me almost a month after the movie though... (apparently they lived in Asia although many have been found in america) i will post this pic to another discussion if you'd like the final battle has been finished.... -paden (ed note: HOLY MACREL i said the 150 times there in the fight....)

"triumphant" is an excellent descriptor for your epic tale, love it! Now could you please clean up the "story about the fight" block of words into a easily read thread? I have faith in you!

Seems legit. I like the fact that, while I feel Rex was a hunter and a scavenger, you portrayed it as a scavenger like they did in JP3 and it still one. I think being a scavenger might have even honed it's fight skills. My reason is that a rex would have to be strong enough to chase or fight other carnivores for their kill. I think a rex would kill the spino with a bone crushing bite to the back of the neck, but the throat shredding works to. Reminds me of JP Operation Genesis death duel between Tyrannosaurus and Spinosaur.

40 and 50feet tall??? Lol thats the hight of a brachiosaur U melon !! Lol Also 21 tonnes is a bit much . It wouldnt be able to walk being the weight of a whale! But other than that. U basically wrote the fight scene exactly how it should have been in JP3 great job with excellent detail....... Unlucky@spinosaurus rex mwhahahah

sorry guys please excuse my writing i was very tired when i wrote this @jhawkins1987 no im measuring off of the biggest ones found a casual size is maybe 30 - 40 feet tall i did take into account the bombed skeleton of the spino course i could be wrong? i did do this at midnight soooo @rexfan thanks i feel strongly about the fact that rex was both a hunter and scavenger :D @spinosaurus rex none of this is outdated i even took the bombed skeleton into account for you, but other then that, this all up to date info also i found out why spino wasn't in the rex family because of its spine sail it couldn't be factored into the rex family @freeze thanks for the input i was really tired when i wrote this so i just biffed it ill try to fix it though.... i could use some inspiring its a big job... (just edited it, approval?) also i am apart of team t rex but i took that out fo account for the fight i dont care who wins i just wanted to end the debate...

@x_paden_x You are on team rex! This whole discussion is semi-realistic, but BIASED!!! You have not ended the debate, you have not named the champion. You don't possess this authority!!!!! I kinda like your little scenario fight thing but in reality NONE of us know which dino would really win.... we can only speculate.

your not supposed to go by how it should have been jhawkins, you are supposed to go by how it would have been... IN REAL LIFE. And we dont really know how it would have went anyways, its just that my opinion is spino winning, thats because i have studied about every little detail about it since i found out about spinosaurus and i dont know why you trex fans just wont let go of trex cause there were bigger and badder dinosaurs than it, and back then size mattered in most cases, and i think spinosaurus had a bigger chance because it had more features and weapons than trex, all it had was its bite, and none of us know which one was stronger or not, but lets just go with what @Dinosaur.Fanatic > is saying and just say we dont know who would win unless someone really found out how to resurrect dinosaurs or time travel.

And seriously how can we know how fast they ran, the only way that would matter is one of them running away from the other... cough cough, which would be trex, cough :) :)

@dinosaur fanatic ? i took teams out of the picture for this fight this is not biased either ive compared each tribute of the rex and spino they are almost equal to each other, rex has the better half of this its smaller then spino lighter and has more weapons suited for combat, spino on the other hand was heivier slower and bigger and only has its frail jaws and sharp hand talons for weapons (give both rex and spino could kick) also the champion is stated it was rex, in this fight I've compared the tributes of both animals involved based on weapons weight and speed, this fight would never actually happen but what I've done is I've given both equal chances for winning i have then compared them together to see who has the upper hand they do this simulation thing all the time given this isn't like scientifically backed and stuff I've just thrown it together, but this is the closest thing we've got to it.... you can accept it or deny it

@spinosaurus rex i beg your pardon sir but spino is heavier calculating that it was much slower it was a fisher not a fighter, also by pinpointing certain parts in the dinosaurs leg bones we can shape the muscles around it eventually with scientific work and stuff you can measure how fast they run just by they're muscle, also spino was NOT i repeat NOT BUILT FOR COMBAT why do you think it was a fisher (easiest thing for it to kill), rex is faster has more weapons and is well built for the scenario i described strong, well boned, seems simple enough to me the reason rex lost in jp3 was because it was a juvenile and jack horner made spino win. also by studying the fossil record we can see what weapons they had let me list them AGAIN because you weren't listening the first time weapons rex- strong neck muscle for shaking, strong bone crushing jaws, strong skull, powerful leg muscles, keen sense of smell, steak knife teeth, toe claws spino-jaws, teeth, powerful forelimbs for clawing, strong leg muscles, toe claws, smell (not very strong though its vision was better) true simple facts, nothing outdated, all correct all ive done is compared the facts here people.....

Look at this way T-Rex had one of the strongest bite forces of all time. It lived with and ate Ankylosaurus and Triceratops, as well Edmontosaurus. Spino had a not so powerful bite compared to T-Rex, and its conical teeth would be better for gripping prey (fish got pretty big back then). Spino's biggest asset is it's arms. You can make the fight as long or short as you want, but it doesn't change the fact that they were nearly evenly matched. Remove T-Rex's bite force and Spino's arm size, then what would it be like?

Imagine the fight in the third Jurassic park had instead of being a juvenile male chasing some people away from a carcass, was a full grown female defending her nest or young.

yes i do think with a female rex it would've been better, due to the height difference, it would've been cooler because the fight would be more equal although i think it would still end the same :D yup dont go to the toilet from now until the end of the tour you may live longer.... LOL

Firstly i dunno where this "juvenile " stuff has come from! It deffinately wasnt juvenile cos he looked pretty much the same size when they were charging ,pushing n biting! Secondly x_ paden_ x i dunno how u were taught to measure at school lol but a trex and spino stood about 15-20 ft at the hips and thats the big boys!!!!! Tall enough to look through ya upstairs window in ya house . (LTW) . Last i looked that wasnt 30ft Thirdly @spinosaurus rex ur right in terms of it would be a coin toss, could be down to age and maturity of the adult dinos, fighting experience anything.

MemberTyrannosaurus RexMay-12-2013 5:15 PM
I read on other discussions that the Rex was juvenile. I just know that it said the Rexs were 16 feet tall in the first 2 and 14.5 feet in the third.

I love how everyone is sayin how biased the rex fans are. Jack Horner was clearly biased towards the Spino but no one ever calls him out on it, haha. Either way, I think MrHappy is right. What if it was the giant female rex from the first movie or even better, both parents from Lost World? Spino would be outgunned. Against a subadult rex, sure, Spino may have won. But a pair of enraged parents or a fully grown Tyrannosaur would have sent any dino, including Spino, running!

no no no jhawkins im measuring from the largest skeletons found NOT the average size just to make that clear (ive said it a few times now) the big spino is exaggerated yes because the specimen was lost to war the rex how ever is the one called sue also given that dinosaurs mature rate differs the baby rex we see in TLW was the 3 month old baby that is the 6 year old "buck" juvenile we see in jp3 ( i have stated this before but its HIGHLY possible) given the full grown size of a rex is probably 7-9 years that buck we see is near adult hood @Rex fan you know id actually like to see that a mating pair of rex's that are mad take out dat spino *hes the trailer* shove dat spino fo the ledge he goes up in flames :D ALSO in another note id imagine that the spino we see in jp 3 is a buck too about 8 years *guessing he was pretty young in tlw thats why we didn't see him id imagine 2 yrs old* any other questions?

Actually the baby rex from TLW was a female. Also, Tyrannosaurus did not reach adult size until they were 18 years old. They stayed small until they were about 9 or 10, then they bulked up at 1,000-2,000 pounds a year until the age of 18 or 19. They never stopped growing, but slowed down a lot after 20. They had 30 year lifespans.

Yh x paden x u have already said that before and repeatedly wrong lol The biggest spino that was destroyed was illegedly 56ft LONG . And SUE the largest rex stands 14ft tall and is 12.9 m (42ft) long Wikipedia seems a bit more legit to me pal

x_paden_x

MemberCompsognathusMay-13-2013 5:22 PM
@spinosurus rex you sure pal seems finished to me @rexfan684 i dont remember them ever saying that it was female and on jurassic park the dinosaurs matured more rapidly due to the frog dna @jhawkins1987 strange because i used wikipedia for the sizes of some also these sizes may be a bit exaggerated just a bit but considering the hip size was about 19 feet these arent highly exaggerated also for many i rounded up to the nearest 10

For one thing the baby was brown and the buck was green. Either way, it was said on the Jurassic Park Wiki that it was a female in TLW. I was going by the growth rates of real dinosaurs. Good point though with the frog DNA. The max hip height for Tyrannosaurus was about 16 feet with a full height of 23 feet or so. Spinosaurus was about 18 feet tall at the hip and 25 feet tall at the head, 27 at the top of the sail.

yes the sizes are indeed exaggerated just a bit but this is form the biggest specimens found, but if the buck juvenile we see in JP /// isn't the baby how does that work because there was only one pack of rexs on the island so that means that the rex we see in jp 3 may be the same in TLW *i dont actually know if the one in jp3 was a buck or not im just assuming though*

It was a buck in JP3. Maybe it was from the other pack and just grew up and left. The baby's older brother, haha. But seriously, who says there was only one pack? Maybe that's all you saw. For one thing, TLW took place in the northern part of Sorna, conifer forests, and 3 was in the south, tropical forest.
